Pauline Broadhurst's listing in the NC Colonial Dames of America

297. t*MRS. R. H. EDWARDS (Mrs. Pauline Broadhurst

Richardson),

[Elected 1904.)
[Died 1906.1

212 Elm Street, East, Goldsboro, N. C.
Sixth in descent from John Smith,
supplementary claims.
Needham Bryan, WilHam Whitfield.

Pauline (1871-1906) was one of the 7 children (listed in the 1880 census) of David
John Broadhurst and Martha Jane Baker. This would make her my Great Aunt as she was the sister of Jack John Broadhurst born in 1873.
Evidently, she claimed to be in descent from John Smith. I have never run across the actual proof that but my late Aunt Sarah claimed to be a descendant from Needham
Bryan as well. Needham Bryan married John Smith's daughter Nancy in 1748.
